HUMAN STUPIDITY

So at this very moment, I am watching this show on the National Georgraphic Channel about mountain lions in California. They are tracking one who lives in the woods near a housing development. The announcer has just said children hang out in and near the recreation center in the community. The mountain lion is on the move and it is believed to be looking for food and "the recreation center is on the animal's hunting ground." What I want to know is, since they have sedated and put tracking devices on these animals, why did they build a recreation center on a mountain lion's "hunting ground?" Weird people....
